Pride 2025: Showing Up With Love, Diversity and Community

This Pride season has been nothing short of magical. At Finix, we’ve always believed that fashion is more than just what you wear — it’s how you show up, take up space and celebrate who you are. And this June, we were humbled and proud to be part of two deeply meaningful events that embodied the spirit of Pride: Pasar Pink 2025 and Fashion For All at Design Orchard.

Pasar Pink 2025 – A Market Like No Other

Held at the beautifully reimagined New Bahru, Pasar Pink was a two-day celebration of queerness, culture, and community — and it pulsed with pure heart from start to finish.

From the unexpected brilliance of Pasar Pro Wrestling and a Furry Fashion Show featuring beloved pets and their proud owners, to drag queen storytelling sessions that had both kids and adults enthralled — the weekend felt like a warm hug from the universe. We were surrounded by an explosion of colour, laughter, chosen family, and authentic expression. It was a reminder that when queer-owned businesses, creatives, and community groups come together in a safe, loving space, the result is nothing short of magic.

We weren’t just selling our designs — we were sharing stories, witnessing joy, and being reminded of the beauty of showing up as ourselves, unapologetically. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, connected with us, and made Pasar Pink a weekend to remember.

🌈 Fashion For All – Diversity on the Runway

Over at the newly renovated Design Orchard, we had the honour of showcasing in Fashion For All 2025 — a fashion show that celebrated the real and raw beauty of humanity in all its diversity. From people of colour and different body sizes to varying gender identities and lived experiences, it was a runway that reflected the world as it should be: inclusive, vibrant, and alive.

But one moment stood out most for us — our very first time dressing a person with disability on the runway.

Carole Anne wasn’t just a model. She was a force of resilience and grace. When we first met her, we were excited but admittedly unsure of how our garments would fit. During the fitting, we faced a challenge — our Aura Romper’s zipper and waistband needed adjusting for accessibility. It was a moment that forced us to pause and reflect: if fashion is truly for all, we need to do better to design for all.

So we made it work. And when Carole Anne slipped into the romper, her whole face lit up. She felt radiant, comfortable, seen. And that, for us, was everything. We ended up gifting her the romper — not just because it looked incredible on her (it did), but because she reminded us what Pride and inclusive fashion are all about: showing up with courage, embracing difference, and affirming the beauty of every body, every story.

We’re also thrilled to share that Finix will be stocked at Design Orchard until 14 July! So if you’re in the area, swing by and explore our latest pieces in person.

🩷 PinkDot18 – Stories, Solidarity & Hope

No Pride month in Singapore would be complete without the annual PinkDot Rally at Hong Lim Park — and this year, the 18th edition felt more powerful than ever.

We found ourselves surrounded by familiar faces and fellow industry peers (shoutout to @binarystyle Santhi and our FFA'25 model Jeev), all decked out in pink, showing up with love, intention and wholehearted support for the local LGBTQIA+ community. That kind of visible allyship — sincere, grounded and unapologetic — means the world to people like us.

One of the most unforgettable moments was seeing one of Finix’s longtime friends and supporters, local drag superstar Opera Tang, speak on stage. Many of you may remember her from our Pride 2024 campaign and You Can Sit With Us podcast episode. This time, she brought someone very special with her — her 94-year-old grandmother, who has supported her from day one, even helping to sew and construct her drag outfits. Watching a woman of her generation embrace her grandchild with such open-heartedness and pride was deeply moving. That’s what love should be: unconditional, un-judgemental, and pure.

Unfortunately, that kind of love isn’t always the norm. In Singapore, there’s still a long way to go. Racism, homophobia and other forms of prejudice don’t always scream — they whisper, quietly and harmfully, through everyday interactions and systemic silence. Pride reminds us not only to celebrate how far we’ve come, but to keep pushing for a future where everyone can be seen, safe and free.

One beautiful new addition this year was the first-ever PinkDot Time Capsule, created to preserve personal stories and keepsakes. It will be sealed and reopened in 2050 — 25 years from now. A powerful act of remembrance and hope, it reminds us that our lives and love are worth documenting, and that one day, future generations will look back and know we were here, fighting and loving boldly.

As we look back on this Pride month, our hearts are full. These experiences have reaffirmed our purpose — to create pieces that move with you, empower you, and hold space for who you are.Thank you to everyone who has supported us, cheered us on, and stood with us in love, truth, and solidarity.

Because at the end of the day, Pride isn’t just a month — it’s a movement. And we’re proud to be part of it.
