Comfortable Fabrics for Hot and Humid Weather

In Singapore, getting dressed can mean preparing for several temperatures in one day. The walk outside is hot and humid. A sudden thunderstorm leaves everything damp and windy. Then you step into an office, café or train where the air conditioning feels cold.

Our founder, Leonard, knows the frustration of buying clothes that look good but feel uncomfortable after an hour in the heat. That experience shapes how we choose fabrics at Finix. We consider how each material feels against the skin, how it moves and how it works with a relaxed silhouette.

We create comfortable, breathable clothing for tropical climates by thinking about fabric and fit together. A loose-fitting tee, a wide-leg trouser or an easy jacket should give you room to move while still feeling stylish enough for work, travel or dinner. Our customers often tell us that this comfort is one of the reasons they return.

Here are four fabrics you’ll find in our collections.

Bamboo Lyocell: Soft Everyday Essentials

Bamboo lyocell is a regenerated fibre made using cellulose sourced from bamboo. It feels smooth against the skin and has a fluid drape, making it a natural fit for the relaxed silhouettes in our GENESIS Core line.

We use it for essentials that feel gentle on the body and easy to style. A GENESIS Core Tee can be the comfortable base of an outfit without feeling like an afterthought. Lyocell production can recover and reuse its processing solvent; the impact of a finished garment also depends on its particular supply chain and manufacture.

Odell Ice Cotton: A Cool-to-the-Touch Feel

Odell ice cotton is our manufacturer's name for the cotton terry we use in our FORM line. Smooth and cool to the touch, it gives our pieces the softness you want to live in and the structure needed to hold their shape.

We use it for relaxed-fit tops and wide-leg silhouettes that feel comfortable in motion and polished enough to wear beyond the everyday.

TENCEL™ Fibres: Softness with Fluid Movement

TENCEL™ is Lenzing’s brand for lyocell and modal fibres made from wood-based cellulose. Fabrics containing these fibres can feel gentle against the skin and drape beautifully, giving expressive silhouettes an easy sense of movement.

Our FREEDOM Noragi Jacket shows how a soft, relaxed layer can still bring presence to an outfit. Wear it open over an everyday top or style it for work, travel or an evening out. The exact fibre blend varies by garment, so you can find its composition on each product page.

Linen: Airy Texture for Warm Days

Linen is made from fibres of the flax plant. Its airy feel and natural texture have long made it a favourite for summer clothing and dressing in warm weather.

At Finix, we use linen in relaxed, modern Asian-inspired silhouettes that feel easy without looking underdressed. Its lived-in texture gives each piece character, whether you’re wearing it on a hot day in Singapore or packing it for a summer trip.

Clothes You Can Feel Good Moving In

Comfortable clothing for hot and humid weather takes more than a fabric name. We consider the material, its weight and the space a silhouette gives your body. Together, those choices help create pieces you can move through the day in - relaxed, expressive and entirely your own.
