The Best Travel Pants You’ll Ever Need: Comfortable, Versatile & Made for Movement

Above image: If i were to choose, this would be my ideal travel set. Our Oversized Sweatshirt Tee and Harem Joggers in black. Comfy, coordinated and ready to go.
The best travel pants should feel comfortable, move easily, and take you from airport to dinner without making you overthink your outfit.
At Finix, that idea has always been at the heart of why I started the brand.
Not in a big, conceptual way — but in a very real, personal way.
A lot of people tell me the same thing when they try on our pieces for the first time:

“This feels like something I’d wear when I travel.”
And I get it.
Because when I design, I’m not thinking about a single occasion. I’m thinking about how something feels when you’re moving through a day — when you want to feel comfortable, put together, and free to move without restriction.
Why I Started Designing Travel Pants

I grew up traveling quite a bit.
My parents loved traveling — come mid-year or end of year school holidays, they were always planning trips, and from young I was exposed to different places, food, cultures and ways of living.
Looking back, I think that’s where a lot of my curiosity came from. Wanting to see more, experience more, and eventually understand myself a bit more too.

As I got older, I started travelling with friends and on my own — short weekend getaways, longer ones, sometimes last-minute
And that’s when I realised something very simple:
I didn’t have clothes that really worked for travel.
Everything in my wardrobe had a role:
Gym.
Work.
Going out.
But travel doesn’t split neatly like that.
You could be freezing 30,000 feet in the air, then walking for hours, then sitting down somewhere nice for dinner — all in the same day.
And nothing I owned could really keep up.
So I started designing pieces that could.
Clothes I didn’t have to change out of halfway through the day. Clothes that felt comfortable, but still looked considered. Clothes that just worked, wherever I ended up.
What to Look for in the Best Travel Pants
Over time, I realised I kept reaching for the same kind of pieces when I travel.
Not because they were “travel clothes” — but because they just worked.
So if you’re looking for the best travel pants, this is what actually matters, at least to me:

Above image L to R: Supreme comfort; pocket zips; versatility, from plane to street; pockets, do we have to say more?
- Comfort — especially for long flights or full days out
- Breathability — something that works when you step out into heat, but also doesn’t leave you freezing on the plane
- Function — proper pockets, ideally zipped or deep enough. The last thing you want is your wallet, mobile phone or passport dropping out.
- Versatility — something you can wear from the airport, onto the plane, through a full day of walking and sightseeing, and straight into a semi-fancy dinner
To me, the best travel pants are comfortable enough for long flights, breathable enough for hot weather, polished enough for dinner, and functional enough to include deep or zip pockets for the essentials.
I don’t like packing clothes for specific activities anymore.
I just want pieces that carry me through the day — without needing to head back to the hotel to change, or pack extra clothes that take up space in my bag.
The Best Travel Pants I Keep Coming Back To
FLOW Box Pleat Wide-Leg Joggers
This is one of those pieces I find myself reaching for a lot when I travel.

The wide-leg cut gives you space to move — especially when you’re sitting for long hours or walking a lot. But the box pleat keeps it looking structured, so it never feels sloppy.
The fabric, our Odell "ice" cotton baby terry, was something I was very particular about. It feels soft and breathable in warm weather, but still has enough weight to keep you comfortable on flights.

Why Versatile Travel Pants Make Packing Easier
One thing I used to struggle with was overpacking.
Too many “what if” outfits. Too many pieces that only worked in one situation.

So when I started designing, I made sure everything could work together.
Most of our pieces come in matching or complementary colours, so you can mix and match without thinking too hard.
When I travel now, I bring fewer pieces, but I can still put together different looks without repeating the exact same outfit.
It removes that mental load — which, to me, is part of what good travel clothing should do.
Looking Put Together Without Trying Too Hard
I think this is something a lot of people struggle with when they travel.
You either dress up and feel uncomfortable, or dress down and feel like you’ve given up.
I’ve always wanted something in between.
Something that feels relaxed, but still intentional. Comfortable, but not sloppy.
So you can step off a flight, go somewhere, meet people, and still feel like yourself.
Final Thought
For me, the best travel pants aren’t just about function.

They’re about how you feel wearing them — especially when you’re in unfamiliar places, figuring things out as you go.
Because travel, at least for me, has always been tied to that feeling of discovering something new — sometimes about the world, sometimes about myself.
And the last thing I want is for what I’m wearing to get in the way of that.
